Ching Hope Lodge, is set for 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20 at Kani Ka Pila Grille in the Outrigger Reef Hotel.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In the ultra-competitive world of college basketball, there is one common opponent among all 300-plus NCAA Division I programs. Coaches vs. Cancer, a nationwide organization, will be featured on the local level at 7 p.m. Friday with dinner and fellowship at Kani Ka Pila Grille in the Outrigger Reef Hotel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All eight schools participating in this coming week&#8217;s Hawaiian Airlines Diamond Head Classic will be represented, led by Hawai&#8217;i head coach Eran Ganot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We love annual events, and to see things grow over the years &#8230; I think it&#8217;s become a national staple,&#8221; said Ganot, who sits on the board of the Coaches vs. Cancer Council, under the umbrella of the American Cancer Society. &#8220;We always want to do our part here in Hawai&#8217;i, to help the greater good. The money (raised) stays right here at the (Clarence T.C. Ching) Hope Lodge, there&#8217;s only 31 or 32 in the country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We want to continue to educate our guys on how important it is.
