Proving he was much more than a “big fish in a little pond,” Hawai’i center Isaac “Big Fish” Johnson earned All-Pacific District First Team honors after voting by the National Association of Basketball Coaches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson, a 7-foot grad transfer from Utah State, was the only player from the Big West Conference named to the All-District First Team. Johnson was also named to the All-Big West First Team and Most Valuable Player in the conference tournament after helping the Warriors win their first championship and NCAA Tournament berth since 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Johnson, who is from American Fork, Utah, led UH in scoring (14.1 points per game), blocked shots (34) and free throw percentage (88.5 percent) and was second in rebounding (5.8 rpg). He is the first Warrior to earn All-District honors since Stefan Jankovic was named to the first team and Roderick Bobbitt to the second team, both in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
