
The University of Hawai’i 2024-25 men’s basketball team earned recognition from the National Association of Basketball Coaches for achievement in the classroom.
The Warriors were honored with the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award as UH’s roster of 15 student-athletes earned a combined 3.43 grade point average during the 2024-25 academic calendar. Each year the NABC recognizes teams that earn GPA’s of 3.0 and higher. This is the second straight year the Warriors earned the distinction. The 3.43 GPA was a program best.
In addition, a school-record five Rainbow Warriors earned individual accolades from the NABC as well. Graduate students Tanner Christensen and Ryan Rapp, as well as upperclassman Marcus Greene, Gytis Nemeiksa and Harry Rouhliadeff were recipients of the NABC Honors Court award. Christensen achieved the highest grades, achieving a 3.66 GPA while completing a masters degree in finance.
To attain the NABC Honors Court, student-athletes must be a junior, senior or graduate student during the 2024-25 year and hold a cumulative GPA of 3.2 following the end of the Spring 2025 semester.
