The University of Hawai’i men’s basketball team will open play in its 14th and final Big West Conference season Thursday night with a showdown against longtime rival UC Davis.
Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. in BankOh Arena at the Stan Sheriff Center, with the game televised live statewide on Spectrum Sports Channel 12 and broadcast live via radio on ESPN 1420AM.
The Warriors are 6-2 coming off a 92-55 rout of visiting North Dakota, while the Aggies are 5-2, including a 77-71 road upset at Nevada on Nov. 18.
“Obviously we’re very excited to compete, and conference play is at another level,” UH coach Eran Ganot said. “(The Big West) has been doing well, (there’s) a lot of respect for the student-athletes and coaches in our conference. It should be a great challenge right off the bat.”
