With an impressive exhibition victory now in its rearview mirror, the University of Hawai’i men’s basketball team will officially open the 2026-27 season with a home game against Seattle U. on Monday.

Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. in BankOh Arena at the Stan Sheriff Center. The game will be televised live statewide on K5, and broadcast via radio on ESPN Honolulu AM1500.

With no TV or radio coverage of the Warriors’ 89-60 win over Hawai’i Pacific on Oct. 25 and only about 1,500 fans in attendance, this will be the first time most people will see the revamped UH team in action. It is a squad with 13 newcomers and only one returnee who saw action in the last regular season, so there is a lot to look for.

“We’re just in the next phase, I mean this is a long journey, it’s a long season,” Warriors coach Eran Ganot said. “Your hope is that we’re closer, we’re better, I think we’re getting more comfortable … I know we have a long ways to go, especially with so many new faces.”

The Redhawks are coming off a 21-14 season in which they advanced to the NIT second round, losing at Auburn, 91-85.
