Warriors earn NABC Team Academic Award

The University of Hawaii men’s basketball team has earned recognition from the  National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) for its achievements in the classroom. 
 
The Rainbow Warriors were honored with the NABC Team Academic Excellence Award as UH’s roster of 15 student-athletes earned a combined 3.1 grade point average during the 2023-24 academic calendar.  Each year the NABC recognizes teams that earn a grade-point averages of 3.0 and higher.
 
In addition, two Rainbow Warriors earned individual accolades from the NABC: Graduate students Matthue Cotton and Justin McKoy each received the NABC Honors Court award. Cotton maintained a 3.50 GPA while seeking a masters in finance while McKoy achieved a 3.74 GPA in obtaining a graduate certificate in online learning and teaching.
  
To attain the NABC Honors Court, student-athletes must be a junior, senior or graduate student during the 2023-24 year and hold a cumulative GPA of 3.2 following the ending of the spring 2024 semester.
